“The witness of a joyful family life rooted in the Gospel can be a spiritual oasis for people in contemporary society.”

Archbishop Allen Vigneron, “Unleash the Gospel”

Archbishop Vigneron’s pastoral letter, “Unleash the Gospel,” has been a source of inspiration for many parishes in our Archdiocese as they prayerfully contemplate the desires of the Holy Spirit to renew his Church. There is no limit to what the Lord can do in our midst, if we let Him.

Beginning in November, we will incorporate young married couples with children to witness their faith life to new families seeking to have their children baptized at St. Mary. This witness segment will be held during the infant baptism preparation class. Young families just starting out will have an opportunity to experience a family life characterized by a joyful, Catholic Christian lifestyle. We are well aware that no family is perfect, but a family doing their best to pray together, attend weekly mass together, participate in parish activities and give of their time, talent and treasure can be a powerful and attractive witness to the presence of Jesus in their life.

Let us ask our heavenly Mother, Mary, to lead all of us to her Son, Jesus. Let us pray that our heavenly Mother can teach us all to know and love Jesus better, so that we too can become attractive examples of living water in the midst of a thirsting world. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray, amen.

Yours in Christ,

Christine Wagberg
