CSA Commitment Weekend April 29/30

St. Mary Catholic Community Downtown Royal Oak CSA Commitment Weekend April 29/30As we continue to enjoy the beauty and joy of the Easter Season, we will soon kick-off our annual Catholic Services Appeal (CSA) next weekend. On Holy Thursday we were reminded in the Gospel and the symbolic foot washing, that we are all called to serve each other by following Jesus’ example. In the Gospel Jesus says, “I have given you a model to follow, so that as I have done for you, you should also do.”

As Disciples of Christ, we are here to help our brothers and sisters in need, where ever they are. One way that we can do this is through the annual CSA campaign. Our individual support of CSA helps all of us carry out the corporal and spiritual works of mercy that take place throughout our local communities.

You will be receiving your pledge card and brochure in the mail this week. We ask that you review everything carefully and prayerfully, and bring your commitment card to Mass next weekend.

We have also enclosed a parish census card within the CSA mailing. It has been many, many years since a parish census has been done and we need to update our parishioner’s current information. We ask that you fill this out and return with your CSA pledge card. All families need to fill this out, unless you have registered in the last few months and there are no changes. We will follow-up with phone calls to those families that we do not hear from, so please make this easier for the parish staff and volunteers.

As an added incentive, we will have a drawing from all the CSA pledge cards received by Monday, May 1. The winner will receive a special gift and treat. So don’t forget or procrastinate! We look forward to having you help us reach our CSA goal!
